The Royal Path of Ashtanga Yoga

What it is


This is a very unique and wonderful opportunity to retreat with one of the most respected an experienced astanga yoga teachers and to share this week with other dedicated practitioner from all over the world!

We are very honored to share this week of astanga yoga at the beautiful Mandali retreat centre with Eddie Stern.

The youngest of the so-called Senior Teachers of Astanga Yoga in the world, Eddie has followed for more than twenty years', uninterruptedly, the teaching of his guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, from whom he could learn the most profound essence of the Astanga Yoga system. Always close to Guruji until his death in 2009, Eddie devoted his entire life to the study of the Astanga Yoga system, including its less popular aspects. He has studied Sanskrit and many of the scriptures of the Indian tradition as well as all aspects of the Indian and yogic culture.

Eddie Stern embodies the most authentic expression of how Indian thoughts can be relevant to our western lives.
He's one of the most recognized and extraordinary teachers of Astanga Yoga in the world today and this workshop is a great opportunity to share with him the true and pure essence of this uniquely comprehensive system of yoga.

During his first ever week-long retreat, Eddie will cover in-depth the three ingredients of yoga that are said to lead towards self-knowledge:

1. Asana and pranayama practice
2. Chanting and study of sacred texts
3. Surrender of the fruits of our actions

Also included in this course will be daily yoga therapy classes in the afternoon, and plenty of time for discussion and questions and answers.
