Join us for a 1-Day event:
MANDALI EXPERIENCE SPECIAL – Theme: Joy
Sunday 18 April 2021 – 08.00 – 20.00
Join us for a one-day special programme featuring some of our Mandali Experience teachers. There will be Meditation, Yoga, Conscious movement, Qi-Gong, and more.
Moving into the spring time brings an air of new beginnings, of hope, joy and possibilities. Fresh ideas sprout and begin to take shape, clutter is cleared, and smiles are shared in the sunshine. Joy is more than just a feeling, it is a deep part of us, a raw and innocent reflection of who we are. It is seeing and recognising the small beautiful details in life, overcoming obstacles, and also celebrating gratitude of all that is around us at present. This day is about sparking our natural and innate joy in all corners of our lives and permitting it to thrive within and around us.
One of the biggest challenges for us all is living with uncertainty. We just love to know what’s ahead of us, we like to plan and control the future. This past year has challenged us all and many of us have experienced frustration, fear, sadness and anger. Yin Yoga invites us to cultivate stillness and to explore all these questions, emotions and their sensations in the body. Where does your energy move, where does it stagnate? It encourages us to accept ALL the feelings and to travel inward, instead of focusing on the things we cannot change on the outside.
In this Yin yoga sequence, Dagmar will take us on a journey that nourishes the kidney, liver, and heart meridians. When your kidney and liver meridians are balanced you can trust your inner guidance more easily and find a greater sense of peace. This will then lead to more balance in your heart meridian which stands for your ability to feel and express joy.
We get good at what we practice so let’s practice Joy together.
Planting the seeds of joy in all we do affects everyone around us. Joy is a conscious decision and a result of removing negative obstacles. When we practice embodying joy, we build a powerful container for unlimited creativity. Every proven spiritual path uses joy and celebration to open the mind, body and heart into higher states of being. Joy is the gateway to love and love is the gateway to freedom.
So what does the practice of Joy look like? There has to be an intention and a sweet surrender – we release our arms into the air, we smile, we open our shoulders, we move with natural breath. Joy is in our tippy toes and in our laughing bellies. We will use movement exercises, music, and powerful inquiry to release Joy from the inside out.
Qi-Gong is a movement and posture practice shaped by the principle of Yin/Yang: the correlation of opposing qualities such as fast and slow, excess or deficiency, etc. Qi-Gong exercises use these contrasting and complementary qualities to restore harmony to the organ systems and meridian channels. These exercises help to maintain health by creating a state of mental and physical calmness, which indicates that the Qi energy is balanced and harmonious.
Spring represents the re-awakening of nature and in this class we will do exercises that mimic the characteristics of 5 animals, both in movement and expression. These exercises studied by the illustrious doctor Hua Tuo (141-208 AD) to draw on the spontaneous faculties inherent in the being of these animals and to generate the channeling of vital energy. This practice benefits practitioners of all levels, working on forging the body, mind, the vital organs and the energy functions related to them.
Julia will be offering an energizing Hatha/Vinyasa style morning Yoga practice. During this class, you will move mindfully through dynamic and static postures to stretch and strengthen your body. You will be guided through a special sequence that combines a variety of poses in order to influence most parts of the body to impact your physical and psychic energies.
This practice encourages a free flow of energy throughout the whole body and ability to achieve a stable state of relaxation and inner peace with ease. While the class is designed for all levels, it is best suited for people with some previous yoga experience.
Join Chef Kes for a live interactive cooking class! Kes has created an easy-to-make, healthy, and delicious vegetarian recipe for us to cook together, which he will show how to make live, step, by step, during the lunch break.
We will be sending out a list of ingredients you will be needing, as well as any preparatory steps required to make the meal. Feel free to keep your camera on during the session to share your progress, ask questions and show us your results.
We are here to support you
After booking you will receive a Zoom link which you can use to access any of the classes.
You do not need to join all sessions, but are welcome to do so if you wish! We encourage you to go at your pace and join the sessions you can, and that resonate with you at the time. Listen to yourself, be kind and enjoy the silence and your own time. We will also be making the recordings of the sessions accessible to you for 7 days after the event, so you can review anything you missed.
A few days before the retreat we will be sending you some tips on how to best prepare for the day, and after attending it, we will be sharing information and resources so that we can stay connected. For any questions please contact us at MEcommunity@mandali.org
